THE SALVATION ARMY’S EASTER HOLIDAY EVENTS & APRIL OPPORTUNITIES 2023
The Salvation Army of Central Maryland wishes you and your loved ones a Joyous Easter Holiday! In anticipation of Good Friday and Easter Sunday, we have a special verse to share:
1 Peter 1:3: "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead."
We have multiple events this week that celebrate Easter and rejoice in the gospel. In addition to our scheduled corps worship services, we also have enriching volunteer and life skill opportunities for the month of April.
1.) April 6, 2023- Baltimore Hampden Corps will have a special interfaith service celebrating Sedar at 6:30 p.m tonight. All are welcome to learn more about Sedar and to enjoy a traditional feast afterwards. Learn more about the event by visiting Hampden Corp’s Facebook page.
2.) April 7, 2023- The Salvation Army is having a special Good Friday service open to the public at The Salvation Army of Middle River’s Corps located on 1400 Fuselage Ave, Middle River, Md 21220.
3.) April 9, 2023- Peace in The City, a powerful event where 30+ churches in Baltimore city are teaming up to bring peace into the city, will take place at 6:30 am at McKeldin Square in the Inner Harbor. This is a special Easter Event that will employ the power of prayer as a weapon to heal Baltimore City. Learn more about the event by visiting Temple Corps’ Facebook page.
4.) April 9, 2023- Easter service will take place at Temple Corps, Hampden Corps, Middle River Corps, and Havre De Grace Corps. Come worship at 10 am, and also bring your family to enjoy an Easter Egg hunt right afterwards. Learn more about our corps by clicking here.
Life Skill Classes: The Salvation Army has multiple Life Skills classes in cooking, budgeting, disaster training, and many of our classes are free and open to the public if you register here. Learning a new skills is a gift that last’s a lifetime.
Volunteer Opportunities: Our ‘Pantry on the Go’ and our ‘Commodity Supplemental Food Program’ helps provide fresh produce and a week’s worth of USDA-approved meals for our most vulnerable in Central Maryland. Easter time is a wonderful time of year, with warmer weather, Easter traditions with family and the many adventures littles ones will have scouring the yard for delicious easter eggs. But this time is also a reminder on why we’re celebrating this holiday in the first place.
