AREA COMMANDERS - CENTRAL MARYLAND
Majors Roger and DeeAnn Glick

Roger and DeeAnn Glick are the newly appointed Area Commanders for Central Maryland. Prior to their move to Baltimore, the Glicks served on Divisional Headquarters in Florida, Area Commanders for Greater Birmingham, and Area Commanders in Little Rock. They have over 15 years’ experience as Corps Officers in three appointments: Atchison, Kansas, Olathe, Kansas, and Oak Creek, Wisconsin. They received appointments with increased responsibility commensurate with their demonstrated capabilities.

During a nine-year lull of service as Army Officers, Roger received his Ordination from the Church of the Nazarene on the Kansas City District. For three years, they served together as Senior Pastors at the Weston Church of the Nazarene before DeeAnn accepted an assignment as a Salvation Army Corps Administrator in Kansas City, Kansas. While pastoring in Weston Roger remained bi-vocational and worked for Glimcher Realty Trust Company as the Operations Director. But soon, The Salvation would come calling. Roger would accept a position as the Assistant Director of Development for the Kansas and Western Missouri Division in Kansas City.

Both Roger and DeeAnn were commissioned in the Witnesses For Jesus Session from the CFOT in Chicago in 1990. They received their Associate Degrees from Olivet Nazarene University in 1990. Roger received his bachelor’s degree in Religion, graduating Cum Laude from MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas in 1999. He pursued studies at Nazarene Theological Seminary.

Roger and DeeAnn have a desire to help others learn to balance pastoral ministry while enjoying healthy family relationships and a maturing walk with Christ Jesus. They both share a concern that congregations learn to live together under the Lordship of Jesus in such a way that we truly become a living sign of the kingdom of God.  Our Army Corps should be models of love, forgiveness, reconciliation, and peace.  Jesus prayed, “May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me” (John 17:23).  The Glicks also believe deeply in our holiness message and preach that holiness is more than “one part” of our identity; holiness is a way of being in the world — a world hungry to know that life transformation really is possible.

The Glicks have five children: Emma Louise Muriel Perez, (Johnny), Sadie Grace Marie Glick, Elijah James Frederick Glick, Tressa Rose Francis Glick, and Jacob Allen Patrick Glick.

Corps Officer - Havre de Grace
Lieutenant Barcey Godwin

Lieutenant Barcey Godwin is the newly appointed Corps Officer in Havre de Grace, a role that marks the culmination of a lifelong commitment to his faith and service. Born and raised in High Point, North Carolina, Barcey was the eldest of two children in a family where he set a precedent as the first male on his father's side to graduate high school. This achievement was just the beginning of a journey defined by dedication, perseverance, and a deep spiritual calling.

At the age of 16, Barcey experienced a profound spiritual awakening, dedicating his life to Jesus Christ. This pivotal moment set him on a path that would lead him to accept his calling to Officership within The Salvation Army at just 19 years old. Determined to fulfill this divine purpose, Barcey never wavered in his pursuit, fully embracing the mission that lay before him.

At 23, he relocated to Greenville, North Carolina, where he served as a Corps Helper. This role was instrumental in shaping his understanding of the responsibilities and challenges of life as a Salvation Army Officer. His time in Greenville provided him with invaluable hands-on experience, laying the groundwork for the ministry that would follow.

Two years later, Barcey took another significant step in his journey by enrolling in the Salvation Army’s Evangeline Booth College, where he pursued seminary studies. His education there equipped him with the theological knowledge and practical skills necessary to serve effectively in his new role as a Corps Officer.

Now, in his first official appointment, Lieutenant Barcey Godwin is committed to "doing the most good" in his efforts to spread the message of Christ and serve his community. When not engaged in his ministry, he finds joy in simple pleasures—spending quality time with his beloved dogs or unwinding with friends through video games.

Above all, Lieutenant Godwin is driven by a singular purpose: to put others above himself and to make their salvation the foremost goal of his life. His journey is a testament to his unwavering faith, his dedication to service, and his deep love for humanity.

Corps Officer - Middle River
Lieutenant India Morris

Lieutenant India Morris grew up in the beautiful city of Roanoke, Virginia, where she was first introduced to The Salvation Army at a young age, attending regularly until 6th grade. During her teenage years in high school, India reconnected with The Salvation Army through a friend’s invitation to church. It was in this familiar and welcoming environment that India rediscovered the love of God, leading her to rededicate her life to Christ and commit to living in a way that was pleasing to Him.

During this transformative period, India was mentored by a Salvation Army officer who profoundly impacted her spiritual journey. This mentor not only exemplified the love of God but also instilled in India the importance of serving others, turning The Salvation Army into a safe haven for her.

In 2009, India felt a divine call from God to serve as a Salvation Army Officer. Embracing this calling, she entered the training college in 2010 as part of the ‘Friends of Christ’ session and was commissioned in 2012.

Since her commissioning, India has faithfully served in several key appointments, including Lynchburg, VA, Charlottesville, VA, the Hampton Roads Kroc Center, and most recently as the Corps Officer of the Virginia Piedmont Corps in Culpeper, VA.
