THE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF GLEN BURNIE THROW A SUMMER PARTY
Early July of this year, The Boys and Girls Club of Glen Burnie threw an End of School Summer bash with an inflatable jumping gym, water games, bubble machines, water balloons and summer snacks. The Boys and Girls club wanted to reward kids for working so hard in school with an unwinding session full of fun activities.
“I am very excited for my very first community club event at The Salvation Army Glen Burnie Boys and Girls Club. The kids will have a fun time playing with slime, water balloons, bubble machines, and the moon bounce. We believe in celebrating all children’s achievements with fun and good times,” said Sherri Bullard, branch manager for The Boys and Girls Club of Glen Burnie.
Bullard was previously the branch manager for The Boys and Girls Club of Franklin Square and in her previous and current role, she helps kids become self-sufficient, confident, adults by assisting them with homework, cultivating play time, introducing kids to new activities, providing field trip opportunities and with scripture and worship services. She also plans to introduce new education-related opportunities for kids and their families this year.
Several kids who attended this End of School party also attended Camp Happyland this year for the first time, and many were excited to learn to swim, row a boat, and share stories at a campfire. Did you know that The Boys and Girls Club of Glen Burnie was awarded a scholarship from The Kiwanis Club of Crofton to have 13 kids participate in Summer Camp for an entire week this year?
Glen Burnie’s Boys and Girls club provides camp opportunities, Angel Tree gifts during Christmas time, and complimentary meals for families in financial need.
