Discover the Joys of Vacation Bible School: A Journey of Faith and Learning

Jul 19, 2023

Summer is in full swing, and for many children, this means exciting adventures and new opportunities for growth. This August, The Salvation Army of Central Maryland is thrilled to invite young hearts and minds to experience an unforgettable journey of faith and learning at our Vacation Bible School (VBS). Through the collaborative efforts of our Hampden Corps, Middle River Corps, Temple Corps, and Havre De Grace Corps, we are geared up to make this year's VBS an extraordinary and enriching experience for all participants.

What Kids Can Learn from Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School is more than just a summer activity; it's a place where children can embark on a spiritual adventure while having fun, making friends, and discovering the essence of faith. At VBS, children will learn:

Biblical Lessons: Through engaging stories, interactive lessons, and creative activities, children will explore the teachings of the Bible. VBS provides a safe space for children to ask questions, seek understanding, and deepen their knowledge of God's word.

Values and Virtues: In a world that can sometimes be chaotic, VBS emphasizes the importance of compassion, kindness, love, and forgiveness. These core values foster a sense of community and empathy, encouraging children to become caring and responsible individuals.

Friendship and Fellowship: VBS is a place where lasting friendships are forged. Children will interact with peers from diverse backgrounds, forming bonds that can last a lifetime. Sharing experiences, laughter, and moments of spiritual growth will create memories they'll cherish forever.

Creativity and Expression: Our Vacation Bible School includes various creative activities such as arts and crafts, music, drama, and more. These activities not only make learning enjoyable but also provide avenues for children to express themselves and discover their unique talents.

Confidence and Leadership: Through group discussions, teamwork, and participation in VBS activities, children have the opportunity to build self-confidence and develop leadership skills. These qualities empower them to make a positive impact on their families, schools, and communities.

This August, the Salvation Army of Central Maryland is proud to host Vacation Bible School at four of our Corps locations: Hampden Corps, Middle River Corps, Temple Corps, and Havre De Grace Corps. Each location offers a unique and vibrant atmosphere, promising an unforgettable VBS experience for every child.

The Salvation Army of Central Maryland invites all parents and guardians to enroll their children in our much-anticipated Vacation Bible School. To learn more about specific dates, schedules, and registration details for each location, please visit the Events page on our website here.
