Chesapeake Employers Insurance Company Joins Hands with The Salvation Army for “Tools for School” Back to School Drive

In a heartwarming display of community support, Chesapeake Employers Insurance Company has once again extended a helping hand to The Salvation Army of Central Maryland's annual Tools for Schools Back to School Drive. This year, their contribution has left us truly humbled and immensely grateful.

Chesapeake Employers Insurance Company demonstrated its commitment to education by donating an impressive 5 large boxes of essential school supplies and nearly 20 backpacks filled with much-needed learning materials. These generous donations will make a significant impact on local students as they gear up to start the new school year with confidence.

A substantial portion of these donations will be directed towards Colgate Elementary School, a Title 1 school situated in Baltimore County, as well as to families in our local community who are facing financial hardships. Major Roger Glick, the Area Commander of The Salvation Army of Central Maryland, expressed his heartfelt gratitude, stating, "We are profoundly grateful to Chesapeake Employers Insurance Company for their generous donation that will directly uplift students in need. Their support reflects a true dedication to the betterment of our community."

Recent statistics highlight the ongoing challenges faced by disadvantaged students in both Baltimore City and Baltimore County. A significant number of students lack the resources required for a successful educational journey due to financial constraints. This impacts not only their academic performance but also their overall confidence and enthusiasm for learning.

“We know all too well  many students who show up for school and don’t have enough school supplies,” said Carolyn Gutermuth, Communications Specialist for Chesapeake Employers Insurance Company. “Tools for School not only helps many children heading back to school be well prepared with necessary supplies, but it also helps many  teachers who reach into their pockets to pay for school supplies without any community help. Helping to get students ready for the school year is a campaign that Chesapeake Employers Insurance Company employees embrace with enthusiasm each year and generously support. We are hoping that all the students and teachers have a wonderful, safe, and productive new school year!

Chesapeake Employers Insurance Company has been a longstanding partner of The Salvation Army, participating as an Angel Tree donor in our cherished Christmas program. Their commitment to aiding our community during various seasons is truly commendable and inspiring.

As we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Chesapeake Employers Insurance Company, we also acknowledge the invaluable support from our partnering ZIPS Drycleaning locations and radio stations Today's 101.9 and Mix 106.5. It is through collaborative efforts such as these that we can make a lasting difference in the lives of local children and families.

With the combined efforts of compassionate individuals, dedicated organizations, and a community that cares, The Salvation Army of Central Maryland's Back-to-School Drive is poised to equip countless students with the tools they need to thrive academically and beyond. Thank you, Chesapeake Employers Insurance Company, for being an exemplary beacon of hope and change.
