John Davis
High Gear Training Systems

John tries to live by the Jesuit philosophy of “being a man for others.” In keeping with that spirit, John currently serves as the Advisor Board Chairman for The Salvation Army of Central Maryland.  John is also the founder of High Gear Training Systems, an assessment and leadership coaching service firm. Clients appreciate his straight talk, often unconventional perspectives, and the depth of his “real world” business experience.

John’s business experience includes twelve years with IBM in Baltimore where he worked s in a variety of sales and program management positions.  Highlights at IBM include attaining 11 100% Clubs as well as serving on the IBM Quality Council responsible for implementing a Total Quality Management mentality for Baltimore field sales operations.  John left IBM to start High Gear Training Systems.

John joined his #1 client, Aerotek, Inc. (the Allegis Group) as Director of Professional Development.  John also served as project executive for Aerotek’s Q1 certification with the Ford Motor Company in Dearborne, Michigan.

John’s professional affiliations include membership with the American Management Association and the American Society for Training and Development.  John also serves on the board of Camp Puh’Tok in Sparks, Maryland.

A native of Baltimore, John is a graduate of Mt. St. Joseph High School attended Graceland University in Iowa where he graduated with a degree in psychology. John served as an officer in the U.S. Navy prior to joining IBM.
