WOMEN’S AUXILIARY ST. PATRICK’S DAY MEETING 2022
On March 15, The Women’s Auxiliary had a fellowship at The Salvation Army in Middle River. Captain Katie Bernabe, of Middle River Corps and Major Angela English, of Havre De Grace Corps, were special speakers at the meeting. Both of our officers spoke about what to expect on a day-to-day basis at the Corps and shared ways the Women’s Auxiliary can help out. For example, both Corps participate in a monthly pantry-on-the-go which offers free fresh groceries to people in need and these events are always in need of volunteers. The Middle River Corps is going to have a Brass Band concert this upcoming weekend, and they are planning a flea market to raise funds to help the corps. The Havre De Grace Corps plans weekly bible studies, has a robust pantry for people in need, and touts the benefits of working by the water.
The ladies of the auxiliary ears perked up and they were compelled to do even more for The Salvation Army. Along with figuring out items to donate to Captain Bernabe’s flea market, the ladies celebrated monthly birthdays, held a prayer for people in need, and discussed a Spring gathering in May. Lunch was comprised of chicken salad and tuna salad sandwiches, macadamia nut cookies, and salad. Twenty women were classily dressed in green and other shamrock hues, and sat at tables with quirky leprechaun, shamrock, and St. Patrick’s day décor.
