Volunteers from BGE give back to our CSFP program

Jul 11, 2023

At The Salvation Army of Central Maryland, we are privileged to work with amazing volunteers who dedicate their time and efforts to uplift and support the community. We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to a team of BGE volunteers who recently joined us last saturday in packing grocery boxes for low-income seniors in Baltimore City and Baltimore County. Their commitment and generosity have made a significant impact on our Commodity Supplemental Food Program, enabling us to serve those in need more effectively.

Commodity Supplemental Food Program

The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) is a vital initiative that provides nutritious food to low-income seniors aged 60 and above. The program focuses on enhancing the health and well-being of vulnerable seniors, ensuring they have access to a balanced diet. Through partnerships with local businesses and organizations like BGE, we can gather and distribute essential food items, helping to alleviate hunger and improve the quality of life for seniors in our community.

Why Volunteering Matters?

Volunteers are the heart and soul of The Salvation Army. Without their dedication, compassion, and willingness to give back, we would not be able to provide critical services to those in need. Our volunteers, like the BGE team, play a crucial role in packing grocery boxes for the CSFP, ensuring that low-income seniors have access to nutritious food.

"We are immensely grateful to the dedicated volunteers from BGE for generously giving their time and energy to support our Commodity Supplemental Food Program last Saturday. Their commitment to serving the community and helping those in need is truly inspiring,“ said Major Roger Glick, Area Commander of The Salvation Army of Central Maryland.

The Salvation Army of Central Maryland is incredibly grateful for the support of BGE volunteers who dedicated their Saturday to helping us pack grocery boxes for low-income seniors in Baltimore City and Baltimore County. Through their selfless actions, they have made a significant difference in the lives of those who rely on the Commodity Supplemental Food Program.
